It\u2019s also the focus of this year\u2019s CASEL Exchange where leaders are lifting up what decades of research have made clear: social and emotional learning skills aren\u2019t \u201cextras\u201d\u2014they\u2019re the foundation for academic success, workplace performance, and lifelong well-being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of social and emotional skill development is emotion regulation, also known as self-management in the CASEL Framework. It\u2019s the foundational skill topping educators\u2019 lists of urgent classroom concerns and it plays a critical role in helping young people focus, collaborate, and thrive. Beyond the classroom, data shows these skills, often labeled as \u201csoft skills\u201d, are linked to workplace readiness and career success.
